A rookie in the Garda Emergency Response Unit (ERU) and girlfriend of series protagonist Kenneth McManus. Devon is very much green and inexperienced, in fact the zombies attacked her first day on the force. The whole experience has been a complete shock to Devon's psyche, as a police officer she was strict about following orders to the letter, now she must cope with the idea of killing people she had sworn not a day ago to protect. The event has also brought out her biggest insecurity, being caught with the dead alone and with no one to help her. Her more confident side comes out when she's around either Kenneth or Carl. In spite of all this Devon still is able to maintain a mature disposition and even acts a sisterly figure with Anna, Zoey, and Trevor.
Out of all the characters I've made Devon is by far my favorite, maybe it's because I see bits of myself in her. (Yeah I'm one of those people who hates being alone) If I was to scrap Kenneth as the main protagonist I definitely would put Devon in his place. Her appearance, if you haven't already figured it out, is heavily inspired by Jill Valentine from the Resident Evil games. Her whole concept is she's supposed to be a younger and more inexperienced Jill and so far I like how it's panned out. Now if you're wondering about how the romance subplot with her and Kenneth works, don't. I want to try developing a romance that's established from the get go mainly cause it's easier and it presents different opportunities to test the characters' feelings for each other. Do Kenneth and Devon really have a love strong enough to weather the zombies? Now while that subplot will be there and developed on it will always take a backseat to the plot.
